Dr. Evgenia Preka

Paediatric Nephrologist in the UK, PhD candidate in the Universiy of Amsterdam Medical School (AMC), Department of Medical informatics (UvA), Clinical Research Fellow in Renal Genomics, Royal Free Hospital, London UK.

Dr Preka started her training in Paediatric Nephrology in 2014 in Lyon, France and she is a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist in the UK since 2019. Her main clinical interests are, acute and chronic kidney disease and renal replacement therapy (dialysis and transplant).Part of her training was done in the Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Great Ormond Street Hospital (London) and Universite Libre de Bruxelles (Brussels). Through this training, she has gained experience in dialysis in the acute setting in all age groups by applying different kidney replacement therapy modalities. Further clinical interests include antenatal diagnosis and counselling for families who are expecting a baby with kidney and urinary tract abnormalities.

Dr. Preka was part of the antenatal counselling team in the University Hospital of Southampton in 2019-2020. Last, Dr. Preka is doing her PhD in Epidemiology in the University of Amsterdam; so main part of her research has to do with statistics, epidemiology of chronic kidney disease and kidney replacement therapy modalities.
